Moving past my fear of limiting myself creatively

Let's rewind to a time when life was as simple as crayons and doodles.

I was 5, and creating art felt like breathing. No rules, no expectations—just reaching for colors and letting imagination run wild.

Fast forward to now, the so-called 'grown-up' years. The carefree strokes turned into a maze of overthinking, a cycle of anxiety over what to paint and how to paint it.

Ever wish you could tap into that '5-year-old' joy, free from the pressures to 'perform' or 'excel'? I sure do.

The Heartfelt Journey Back to Artistic Identity:

When I dipped my brush into watercolors in 2016, declaring myself a self-taught artist, I set out on a journey of self-discovery. Art became an escape, a sanctuary from the weight of fertility treatments. However, between 2016 and 2018, the struggle to figure out watercolors mirrored a deeper turmoil—an identity crisis as an artist.

Doubt and insecurity crept in. It wasn't just about finding the right techniques; it was about finding myself.

Breaking Free from Fear:

One fear echoed louder than the rest—the fear of being pigeonholed into one style.

It felt like limiting my taste in music to just one genre. But here's the revelation that dawned on me—I found freedom in commitment. Not commitment to painting in only one way, but commitment to listening to my own voice amid the external noise. There's liberty in learning to listen to what you love and exploring the vast possibilities within that realm.

Enter Brush and Bloom

And so, "Brush and Bloom" was born—an online watercolor retreat and workshop designed to reignite the joy of creation. More than a lesson in techniques, it's an exploration of diverse styles to uncover your unique artistic voice. Through live sessions and pre recorded videos, we'll explore an array of techniques, guiding you towards a more consistent style that is TRULY yours. Consider it a compass, steering you towards a cohesive expression of your unique self.

The Evolution of Consistency:

As artists, our styles aren't rigid; they're living entities that evolve with each painting and time. Consistency isn't about conformity; it's about finding a rhythm that resonates with your soul. From 2016 till now, it's been a journey of exploration and play that helped me uncover what truly makes my heart sing when I paint.

Over the years, amidst evolving experiences and a sharpened eye for art, I realized there was a consistent type of art I was drawn to and loved. Listening to my own preferences brought clarity and confidence, transforming self-doubt into a celebration of artistic expression.

Before I end off - Your art isn't just a creation; it's a declaration of your identity. It's about finding joy in the process, not just the outcome.

Join me in "Brush and Bloom," not just as a workshop but as a rediscovery of the joyous artist within. Let's craft a distinctive style that reflects not just where you are but who you are.

Embrace the brush, embrace the bloom, and let's paint an art piece that tells the story of you.
