A 90-minute Recorded Workshop on Everything You Need to Control Water in Your Watercolor Paintings

An Online Recorded 90-Minute Mini Workshop on Water Control in Watercolor

Painting with "water" and watercolour can feel scary especially when it feels like there is so little control.

This is why I have recorded this live workshop aimed to help you learn to manage and control water in your paintings so that you can paint soft florals with confidence.

You need this workshop recording so that you can:

  • Use water to add soft bleeds and blends to your paintings
  • Learn about the various stages of water drying on your painting and how to use it to your advantage
  • Find your right balance of water to paint ratio
  • Select the right tools for water control
  • Troubleshoot common water control errors
  • This workshop is for you if you:
  • Are new to watercolor or want to conquer your fear of using water in your artwork
  • Want to get clear on controlling the amount of water with the tools available to you
  • Want to paint in a way that is true to watercolor with water to achieve soft bleeds and blends
  • Struggle with mental blocks on using water because of past struggles

The first thing I struggled with in watercolor was being able to control the water.

Fact - Water has a mind of its own.

I get that using water can be tricky because water:

  • Changes the way your paints move and there is little to no control to how your painting looks in the end.
  • Can create a real mess if we use too much or too little.
  • Has no fixed volume on the best amount when painting
  •  Increases the chance of your paper warping and overworking your art piece.
  • Can dilute your paints and change your colour vibrance.

Through several rounds of trial and error, struggles with overworking my own paintings - I am proud to say that the wet-on-wet technique is my favorite way to capture softness in my floral artwork.

I want to reframe your perception of watercolour.

"Watercolor is painting with water - that's why the word "water" comes before "color".

Painting with water means that your paintings will:

  • Include bleeds and blends as the paint interacts with the water on paper
  • Have softer edges to your strokes
  • Take a longer time to finish as we include drying time

Here is the value that you get out of $34:

  • Access to the LIVE replay of this workshop for a lifetime (recorded video) - let me be honest, this was a live class which means it is raw, unedited footage like how a real class is. And l that's where the best lessons are found - so you get to see me troubleshoot in real time, mess up and fix it.
  • Access to me via IG or email to troubleshoot, ask questions about the workshop and share your wins - I want to help you better your practice!
  • Elevating your paintings through using water with confidence!

The fact that you don’t hold anything back and your organized from step 1 through all the steps. Your teaching style is very easy to follow. I learned more about water control from you in this workshop than I ever have from all the very expensive workshop/classes I’ve taken.

But…why would you choose an online course over an in-person workshop:

  • Create at your own time
  • You get to see how I manipulate my brush, up close and in real time.
  • At an in-person group class, it is often tricky to view the instructor's hand up-close. Pause and apply the skills at your own pace for up to 6 months

Hello, I am Jillian

Also known as krafty fox

I am a watercolor artist based in Singapore. My 24/7 job is a mother - and I think in watercolor.

My 4 year old would tell you that “my mummy is a painter”.

Painting is a space that I have carved out for myself in the busyness of motherhood. Specifically, painting flowers reminds me of how brief seasons are - just as how each season in motherhood is fleeting.

I believe that watercolor is an art that is best learnt by sharpening your skills instead of following steps

Let me simplify and break down the steps in watercolor to help you go from feeling discouraged, frustrated and making little progress - to gaining trust and clarity in the process.
